Nyokum Yullo Local Festival At Seppa, East Kameng, AP 2022

The golden jubilee of Nyokum Yullo Festival 2022 was observed at Nyokum Ground, Seppa in February 2022. The East Kameng Social Welfare & Cultural Organization (EKSWCO) organized the golden jubilee Nyokum Yullo-2022. Hon’ble CM Sri Pema Khandu, Sri Arjun Munda, Hon. Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Sri Kiren Rijiju, Hon. Union Minister For Law and Justice,Hon. Minister Sri Mama Natung, Hon. MLA, Tapuk Taku and other dignitaries of Arunachal Pradesh were present at this grand celebration. Nyokum Yullo, that literally means ‘coming together to celebrate’ is a festival of chiefly the Nyishi Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. It teaches and guides the true value of their own culture, tradition and its rich ethos. The chanting of the Mantras, rituals and the sacrifices were made to invoke and please the Mother Nature or Goddess Nyokum. Acknowledging the unity and brotherhood of Nyishi tribe, it was celebrated elegantly and displayed the progressive mental attitude of the people of the community.
