RKM Lumdung celebrated Christmas Eve in a befitting manner as a unique symbol of harmony of faiths. It has a specific significance and treated as a sacred day of remembrance of Swami Vivenkananda’s exhorted his monastic brothers to take the path of renunciation (Sannyasa). They sat before a fire whole night on 24th December, 1886 at a village called Antpur, and that day eventually came to their knowledge as Christmas Eve. The temple was decorated wonderfully and the photos of baby Jesus and that of Lord Jesus were placed in an altar. Cakes and breads were offered to Lord Jesus, Christmas carols were sung, and candle lighting, prayers and worship were part of the occasion.
