Ramakrishna Mission Shishu Vidyamandir
The Ramakrishna Mission Shishu Vidyamandir, Lumdung, Seppa – 790102, East Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh is an introductory step of the advent of Ramakrishna Mission in the Western half of Arunachal Pradesh. As per the request of the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Ramakrishna Mission has agreed to establish a Secondary School on the hilltop at Lumdung.
The construction work has started to some extent and the project is stipulated to be completed by 2023. The great historian and Nobel Laureate Sir Arnold Toynbee had said: “The modern world had an western beginning but if it is to survive it must have and eastern end, with special emphasis on Ramakrishna Vivekananda ideology”. In fact the outstanding definition of Education that Swami Vivekananda offered to the world is the Watchword of our Educational Institutions and this Primary School is no exception to that.
Ramakrishna Mission Shishu Vidyamandir, Lumdung was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister of WRD, SPORTS, AND FOREST Sri Mama Natung ji in presence of Srimat Swami Divyanandaji Maharaj,Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha, Belur Math, Howrah on 11th September 2018.Sri Gaurav Singh Rajawat ( IAS), Deputy Commissioner, East Kameng was also present there and participated in the Inaugural Meeting. The School started with Classes I & II with 40 students, boys and girls, in each class under the governance of a monastic Principal. Essentially the School is following a CBSE pattern so as to be enabled to be affiliated to the CBSE Board in due course of time.
As most of the guardians reside at Seppa, 25 km away from Lumdung, Ramakrishna Mission provides some transport service between the aforesaid two places in a limited way. Apart from only academic pursuit the School targets to build up the students through physical, mental, intellectual and spiritual development by dint of its syllabi and the dedicated effort of the teaching and non-teaching staffs. For this, Cultural Competitions, Sports, Social Services, Fine Arts and Crafts as well as Music have been introduced from the very early stage of the students.

Mid Day Meal
As per the guidelines of DDSE ( DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF SCHOOL EDUCATION), East Kameng district , Government of Arunachal Pradesh, our Shishu Vidyamandir has introduced MDM ( MID DAY MEAL) Scheme in the year of 2019. It aimed at achieving the goal of better education for all besides seeking to improve child health by providing a nutritious meal at school.
A set of rules are formulated related to students health and growth, the quantity of calories and proteins required for students from specific age groups, the quantity of grains / meal that can be allotted to each students, and so forth. It has been implemented throughout every year in our school.
Transport Facilities
Transportation facilities are provided to the day-scholars in a limited way between Seppa to Lumdung. Most of our students reside at Seppa which is 25 km away from Lumdung. Our own School bus and Van drive down to various points POLICE STATION, DIWANA HOTEL, TYPE 1, STATE BANK OF INDIA, KUCHI BRIDGE, HIGHER SECONDARY, YALOPU, ZERO POINT, TYPE 3, BAZAR SECONDARY SCHOOL, K G SCHOOL of the Seppa town to bring the children. Students are allowed to use only the allotted bus and bus stop. No change can be allowed without prior written permission.
Our bus and van are specially made for the purpose of carrying school students with amenities like first aid kits, dual emergency exits etc.Teachers too travel by these vehicles to ensure the safety of the students in transit. On alighting the students are escorted to their respective classrooms by the attendants, specifically appointed for this purpose. Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the school premises to ensure the safety of every student.
Student’s Store
This facility has been established with the aim of helping students in the purchase of books, school bags, uniforms , stationary and all other general requirements at moderate rate. This Store has been fully functional effectively from December, 2018. This is a non- profit initiative to provide cost effective shopping of class room accessories for students.
Annual Athletics & Sports Meet
RKMSV celebrates the Annual sports & athletics meet since 2019. The School’s playground overflows with zeal, passion and excitement. The programme begains with the arrival of the Honorable Chief Guest, Revered Secretary Maharaj, RKM Lumdung. The ceremony commences with the wonderful ‘March Past’, The chief guest also takes the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with exciting marching music. The chief guest and the Revered Secretary Maharaj address the gathering and emphasized the importance of sports in a child’s life. The program starts with the torch relay by the sports captains The students displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports events .All the children are divide into respective sports groups. The races, relays, sack race, and three-legged race, obstacle race, skipping race, musical chair, tug of war and the various items are followed one by one. These mesmerize the audience with their energetic performances. The proud parents could be seen filled with happiness to see their child performing. It is indeed a thrilling experience for children and their parents. The winners who make it to the victory stand feel proud of being awarded the medals and certificates, and appreciation from the chief guest and Revered Secretary Maharaj.
