Swami Akhandananda
(1864–1937)

(Swami Akandanandaji Maharaj was a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. In 1898 he face acute drought in Murshidabad District and started collecting food for the starving people. He was the pioneer of the Service Activities of Ramakrishna Mission.

This block will be used for Health Care of local people and hence the Service Activity will for ever remind us the passion of Swami Akhandanandaji for his great unselfish service to the society)

The Ramakrishna Mission Order sincerely practices what Bhagavan Shri Ramakrishna preached and Swami Vivekananda promoted as ‘Shiva Jnane Jive Seva’, meaning, ‘Serving the God by serving His manifestations in all beings’.

In service to humanity, the Ramakrishna Mission Lumdung has been planning a full-fledged Charitable Dispensary to render medical services to the poor and helpless patients in and around the locality in near future.
